That might sound like a platitude. But let me tell you why I’d argue it should be carved into every purchasing manual, especially when you’re sourcing from large groups like INEOS, or even niche pigment manufacturers for PY150. I’ve tracked every single invoice we’ve processed since Q1 2020—over 1,400 order lines. And what I’ve found seriously contradicts the “lowest-bidder-wins” approach that still dominates many medium-sized companies.
